Fabulous Feather Cake

Seriously. I have been waiting for a caker to come in and order something with feathers. It was almost as magical moment when they also included zebra stripes and lots of disco dust. I mean, I am pretty sure we were this close to hearing angels singing. I think it turned out pretty freaking fantastic. Just sayin'.

50th Wedding Anniversary Cake

I love getting cakes for these kinds of occasions.  It makes me anticipate the times I've yet to have with my sweetie. So, happy golden anniversary! Thanks for letting us sweeten your Golden Anniversary!

Retro Roller Rink greatness

I am pretty sure that any of us girls - and most of you fellas too - that are 30-somethings now spent a little time at the roller rink in our day. So, this order was really a lot of fun to make. Not to mention the rocking zebra print and the mounds of glitter we are allowed to use on it. Pure retro greatness.

Fishing Cake

I don't know if I should publicly admit this, but I am addicted to fishing shows and games. There, I said it. I like watching fishing. A LOT. Stop staring at me with your judging eyes. Ahem. So, I was pretty excited  (I had to hide it, though) when this order came through. I think it turned out super adorable. Well, as adorable as fishing cakes get.

Sweetly Pink

Cake Nation, you know how I love my girly cake orders. Well, this one was simply divine. Sweet soft pinks and even hand pressed fondant lace. I was simply in love with this sweet and dainty design. Thanks for such a lovely order!

Sweet little lamb baby shower cake

We were pretty excited when we got this order. I am in love with this little lamb, so we were pretty excited to get to make it again. We think it's a pretty CUTE cake for a little boy baby shower!

Rubber Ducky, you're the one.

Who doesn't love rubber ducky themes? These cupcakes were some of our favorites we've ever sent out. I mean, how cute are those little yellow ducks on their piles of blue and green bubbles? What a great theme for these baby shower cuppies!

Nose themed Dr,Seuss Cupcake and Smash Cake

This was such a FUN order! We had a mom come in for her son's first birthday with the birthday boy's favorite book. It was a Dr.Seuss book about noses. So,we had one of our gals sit down and replicate the pics of all the noses in the book. I think the order turned out cute as a button! Happy Birthday!

Chocolate Paneled Wedding Cake

This cake had me more than excited. It rustic and elegant and striking and gorgeous all at one time. It's a luscious  Red Velvet cake filled with a raspberry jam covered in our signature vanilla buttercream. Then the outside of the cake is lined with white chocolate panels that are then filled in with fresh raspberries and blackberries. Perfection.

Ed Hardy Themed Cupcakes

As you know, CH&L only accepts limited orders a weekend because everything order we  send out is customized. Especially cakes. This customer wanted an Ed Hardy themed cake for the next afternoon and we were jammed packed on cakes already. We were able to make them in to  fabulous cupcakes, though! All glitzed out with edible diamonds, gold pearls, gold sanding sugar, Ed Hardy toppers, and sparkling disco dust.   

Cotton Candy Themed Cake

This cake  was the ultimate sweet. It's cotton candy swirled cake with cotton candy  buttercream! Our customers have some pretty sweet  ideas!

Sunset on the beach themed cake

I loved the theme of this cake. Who wouldn't want to be watching the sunset on the  beach while eating cake? See. Perfection, I say! This cake was a double pleasure to make because it was for the winner of the free celebration cake from our Grand Opening!

1st birthday Cupcake Cake

What a sweet cake this was! I didn't get  the picture of the smash cake and cupcakes with it at the shop, but luckily the customer sent one for me!

Minnie Mouse inspired Cake & Cupcake order

So, yeah, this set up made my heart happy. All pink and bows and shimmery. It was pure awesomeness. This was for a first birthday and we were THRILLED when we got the order. So, Cakers, feast your eyes on this sweetness!

Call in Cupcake Order

Cakers, I know many of you are still adjusting to the fact that we do not have premade cakes hanging around the shop. We really pride ourselves in the fact that every cake that leaves us was made with a certain person in mind. While this is awesome, we also know there are those last minute things that you wish you had a special sweet for. Well, here's a few of the orders we did for Cakers and Cupcakers with just that issue. Give us a call in the morning, and we can make an order like this to fit with you special occasion. Cupcakes are the new hip thing, you know. It could just make you a hero. Just sayin'.

Baby Boy Themed Private Event hosted at CH&L

We're beginning to get quite a few of these events  - and we love it! We get to theme everything out and that makes us squeal here at CH&L. This shower seemed MADE for us. I mean, it was the colors from our shop for crying out loud!! Thanks for hosting such a wonderful event at our shop and for letting us make such a fun dessert table!

BMX themed cupcake order

Cakers, I think this one turned out pretty awesome. These are cupcakes for a BMX themed birthday. I love how the fondant toppers turned out on this. The remaining cupcakes were rolled in red and gold alternating sanding sugar. The overall look was pretty, well, RAD!

Rocker Girl Cake

So, this one was great. I got to use Disco Dust. Which is like - serious glitter for cakes. I was in glitter heaven. So, thanks for the amazing order, Louella!

Scooby Doo Cake

Here's another recent cake order from the shop. Scooby! I had a great time make the Mystery Machine. Although, I have to admit, I kept calling it the shagin' wagon. I don't know. Maybe it was the era. I digress. Without anymore rambling - here's the Scooby Cake!

Angry Bird Cake

Cakers, while I definitely have my girly side, I do love things without glitter too. This cake is one of those things. So, I should have started this post with - Hello. My name is Shannon. I have an addiction to Angry Birds. This si the part where you all admit you have it too. You know that you all play whenever you can. 5 minutes extra on your wait at the doctor's office is now a chance to beat that level rather than an annoyance. OH! We're talking cake - that's right. Icing Smiles Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Cake

CH&L is all about giving back. We especially have a soft spot for initiatives that involve children and families. Well, this organization is STELLAR. Icing Smiles, Inc   is a group of huge hearted bakers and volunteers that help sweeten the day for seriously ill children and their families. Families get to have a dream cake for their child or their siblings. Something to make the days extra special - just like them. We were honored to have our third call to action with this group. This cake was for one of the cutest little guys ever, Brycen.

Hand Painted Wedding Cake

This cake order was AMAZING to work on. We really used skills from the entire CH&L team to pull it off. I think this may be one of my absolute favorite cakes. I think the final table display also came out top notch! Thanks for the amazing order, Wendy! We loved every second of it!

Elegant Calla Lily Wedding Cake

This cake was all about class and simple elegance. I really like having the chance to play around with the impression mats to give the cake textures too. I love when wedding cakes are so simple, yet so gorgeous! Thanks for the beautiful order!

Girly Cake

This cake - WOW - the amount of glitter on it alone weighed as much as the buttercream. The picture does not do it justice. We had lots of fun cutting out all the little shapes and adding all the embellishments to them. And, you know how I like my zebra print. Tie that together with a black glitter ribbon, and I was in cake bliss. Thanks for another rocking order, Cake Nation!

Tangled Cake

Cakers, you know how I like my girly cakes. This one was SO much fun to make. The castle took a bit of working on. We tried stacking cake and then cupcakes without much success. We ended up using a paper cup! Tricks of the trade, I tell ya. So, without further ado - here's the Tangled Cake!
