Pink Cupcake Wedding Display
This looks GREAT! The stand, all the colors of pinks, the ribbons, and the flowers. I was extremely pleased with how this set up looked when we stepped back.
Pee Wee football cupcakes
My son is playing his first year of tackle football. I picked to do snacks first. Naturally, I chose to bring cupcakes. Here's how they turned out!
Tropical Themed Cake
Lovely feminine Tropical themed cake. We have some pretty cool cake clients that just give us an idea and let us come up with the final design. I really thought this one turned out really pretty!
Skateboard Themed Cake
I am in love with combining buttercream with fondant. So, this cake has an awesome blue buttercream base with fondant flames, rocks, and name plates. It looks great, right? Happy birthday, Tieler!
Clubhouse Cake
Loved this cake. I really liked the red and white polka dotted ribbon we got to use. Plus, we got to put a bow on Toodles' head.
Giant Cupcake Cake
This was a giant cupcake cake carved out of several 10" rounds stacked on top of one another. I really really liked how this one looked. Plus, I got to use mounds of pearl dust on it. Always a super plus!
Black & White Wedding Cake
This cake just screams uber cool, modern, and upscale to me. I love this cake more every time I look at a picture of it.
Bridal Shower Cake
This one looked amazing in person. It may have to do with the loads of glitter on the top of this one. The pink and purple didn't hurt either! I
Very Hungry Caterpillar Cake (cupcake cake)
This was one of my favorite cakes to date. What made it even better was that it went to a party with an amazing photographer, Ashley Lynn Photography. I am usually against cupcake cakes, but this one turned out amazing. I thought the smash cake was gorgeous too!
Classic Buttercream Birthday Cake
This style of buttercream is quickly becoming our signature style in a classic birthday cake. I love how this looks. So, thanks Cake Nation for allowing us to make more beautiful cakes!
Pink and Brown 13 year old birthday
I love my zebra print. I know you all know, because I say it every time I make one. Well,I was pretty excited because I'd never made a pink and brown zebra print before! (toothpicks are in there for travel insurance for our cake client).
Mystery Machine Cake
Here's a super fun order we had this week. I love how this one looks. The mom dropped off some figurines for us and the rest is cake history!
70th Anniversary Cake
I was astounded when we got this order. It's a 70th anniversary cake. We are so blessed to be able to bake for such an amazing event. Thanks and we wish you even more happiness in the future.
Smiley Face cake
This cute and fun cake designed by the 10 year birthday girl herself. She asked for green, a big smiley face, and gumballs. Here's what the magical cakers in the kitchen came up with!
Daisy Cupcakes
As much as we love cakes, we also adore our cupcakes. Here's a really fun order we recently sent out.
Masculine Birthday Cake
I don't know why I get so stumped when a cake client comes in and asks for a birthday cake for an adult guy. I immediately think of biceps and trucker things. I get all scared and immediately think I need to google cakes. Then, she says, here are the colors he likes and somehow that makes sense to me. So, here's what we came up with. I think it turned out pretty freaking nice. Even if there are no biceps or tattoos on here. Oh,did I mention we had two of these this week? Here's the other one.

The Ins & Outs of CH&L
We've had a few questions about things at CH&L. We understand. We are not your typical cupcake & cake shop. So here are the questions and answers for everything you've been dying to know about us:
1. Are you the owner?
One of them. There are two of us that are business partners at Cake, Hope, & Love. My name is Shannon and the other gal is Connie. Both of us are equally equipped to handle any cake needs you can throw at us.
2. Do you have cupcakes I can just walk in and buy?
We sure do! Our daily menu is over there on the right hand column. Those are the cupcakes we have on any given day we're open that you can walk and and purchase right off the counter. If your favorite flavor isn't on the rotation, you can call ahead a few hours (24 hours is best) and place a special order for them. There are no additional charges for special orders.
3. Do you have cakes I can walk and buy?
Here's where we get tricky. We don't have premade sheet cakes hanging around the bakery. Actually, we never have sheet cakes. We don't make sheet cakes, quarter sheet cakes, or half sheet cakes. There are lots of lovely bakeries around the area that can make those. At CH&L we are creating specialty cakes. We think every person is unique, and their cake should be too. So, checked the booked dates over there on the right, and then if we've got the date open, we're in business to create you a custom cake. We prefer to have a week's notice on our orders, but you can call the day ahead and see if we can squeeze you in. Some of our best work has been done under pressure.
4. Fondant is pretty gross. Do I have to get fondant on my cake?
Well, it depends on the design. There are just certain things, like hand painted designs, that have to be done on fondant. Did I mention we order our fondant in? I haven't had a person yet think our fondant tasted bad after sampling a small bit. It smells like sugar and tastes a bit like marshmallows. Plus, there's a generous portion of buttercream under the fondant. It's the glue that holds the fondant on the cake. That's better than any of the pastes some of you ate in elementary school.
5. Are your sweets peanut/gluten/dairy/soy/sugar free?
No. While your chocolate cake may not have peanut butter buttercream, we make our famous peanut butter buttercream everyday and we cannot guarantee there wasn't some cross contamination. We can make a mean chocolate vegan cake, but we need advance notice for those. We're also currently working on Gluten Free items. It may take us a bit. We're going all the way on this. From pans, beaters, and work surfaces that are special to use only for our Gluten Free items. We're hoping to cater to our Cake Nation peep with Celiacs.
Well, I think that about covers it. If you have any other questions, email me at thebestcake@gmail.com and ask away. I'll post them with answers here for all to see.

Double Birthday Surprise!
This cake has a GREAT story with it. I had a cake client come in and tell me that she was newly pregnant. And so was her sister! How exciting. It was also her Dad's birthday. So, his birthday cake was their way of telling him that he was about to be a grandpa twice over! What a great story!!
Fabulous Feather Cake
Seriously. I have been waiting for a caker to come in and order something with feathers. It was almost as magical moment when they also included zebra stripes and lots of disco dust. I mean, I am pretty sure we were this close to hearing angels singing. I think it turned out pretty freaking fantastic. Just sayin'.
50th Wedding Anniversary Cake
I love getting cakes for these kinds of occasions. It makes me anticipate the times I've yet to have with my sweetie. So, happy golden anniversary! Thanks for letting us sweeten your Golden Anniversary!
Retro Roller Rink greatness
I am pretty sure that any of us girls - and most of you fellas too - that are 30-somethings now spent a little time at the roller rink in our day. So, this order was really a lot of fun to make. Not to mention the rocking zebra print and the mounds of glitter we are allowed to use on it. Pure retro greatness.
Fishing Cake
I don't know if I should publicly admit this, but I am addicted to fishing shows and games. There, I said it. I like watching fishing. A LOT. Stop staring at me with your judging eyes. Ahem. So, I was pretty excited (I had to hide it, though) when this order came through. I think it turned out super adorable. Well, as adorable as fishing cakes get.
Sweetly Pink
Cake Nation, you know how I love my girly cake orders. Well, this one was simply divine. Sweet soft pinks and even hand pressed fondant lace. I was simply in love with this sweet and dainty design. Thanks for such a lovely order!
Sweet little lamb baby shower cake
We were pretty excited when we got this order. I am in love with this little lamb, so we were pretty excited to get to make it again. We think it's a pretty CUTE cake for a little boy baby shower!
Rubber Ducky, you're the one.
Who doesn't love rubber ducky themes? These cupcakes were some of our favorites we've ever sent out. I mean, how cute are those little yellow ducks on their piles of blue and green bubbles? What a great theme for these baby shower cuppies!
Nose themed Dr,Seuss Cupcake and Smash Cake
This was such a FUN order! We had a mom come in for her son's first birthday with the birthday boy's favorite book. It was a Dr.Seuss book about noses. So,we had one of our gals sit down and replicate the pics of all the noses in the book. I think the order turned out cute as a button! Happy Birthday!
