Help making Hope a little sweeter

Ever wandered if you could really take a few hours and make a real difference? Thought that you'd like to, but don't really know where to do that? Well, Cakers, meet The Hope Foundation. They are feeding families all around our counties here at home. You can take those few hours you've been wanting something to do with and spend them on a Saturday morning making a HUGE difference to someone here in your own community. Recently, Hope Foundation asked me to make a cupcake or two to offer around town. Here's one of the orders we created.

Teacher Appreciation Day

I was honored enough to be asked to create an order for some of the local teachers at an elementary school around here. Growing up, I only wanted to be two things - a teacher and a lawyer. I know I know. Polar opposites. So, naturally when Steve Bowen asked me create a cupcake for this event, I was more than thrilled with the order. Here's what we came up with!

The next time you see a teacher, thank them. Every day should be Teacher Appreciation Day.

Life just got a little sweeter

Just when you thought cakes were the best thing since ... well buttercream, along came cupcakes. Just when you thought cupcakes couldn't be topped, along comes a little something sweet called Cake Pops. A little bit of awesome on a stick. With sprinkles. It's ok to seat dance. I did.

Thanksgiving Box'o'Cuppies

Yes, Cakers, you read that right. It's a Thanksgiving Pack. This box will be packed up with scrumptious holiday cupcakes. You'll be nomming on 3 Pumpkin Pies, 3 Caramel Apples, and 3 S'mores. Seriously, you'll be a hero. The price is a mere $15 per pack. For all of you Cake Nation enthusiasts out there, you know that means you're scoring 3 FREE cupcakes. Happy Thanksgiving!

Giant Cupcake Cake

This cake is like a big cupcake of cute surrounded by smaller cupcakes of cute. I've been itching to get one of these Giant Cupcake Pans I've seen all around. I finally got a call earlier this week from a client wanting to order one! Woot! Giant Cupcake Pan secured.

Cupcakes Galore!

Amongst all the cakes we've been sending out, we've also been knee deep in cupcakes. Well over (sometimes double over) 500 a month. Cakers, if you're not a Cupcaker yet, look up top and click the CUPPIE tab and look at all the sweets you have yet to discover!

Cakers, have I ever mentioned my obsession over animal prints? Yeah, well, I've got one. So when one of my absolute favorite clients (and one of my first clients) requested a zebra print cake, my heart skipped a few beats. Here's what I came up with for her daughter's 14th birthday.

Flower Cascade

I love getting to play around with gum paste flowers. This was one of those cakes the client said, put some flowers on it and make it pretty. No color specification and no particular flower. Just have fun. Man, I love my clients. 

Monkey themed Baby Shower Cake

I was pretty excited to get a baby shower cake. I was especially excited to do this one when I saw the quilt that I was designing the cake around. I mean, who doesn't like cute little monkeys with sweet curly tails? To top everything off, I got to use my giraffe print ribbon I purchased at least 6 months ago. I've been patiently waiting to use it and I thought this cake was perfect for it!

Dinosaur Friends

This cake was an order spin off from the Caveman Spongebob and Dinosaur cake I had last week. I was thrilled to be able to make another. This order was for Matthew's 4th Birthday! I hope you had a great birthday!
